We’ll be omitting chapter 01 (Words Gotta Mean Things, the definitions section, see the Lexicon), much of chapter 02 (There Are So Many Of These Freaks, Jeezus, local groups, most of which is covered elsewhere), and chapter 04 (If There’s One Thing These Jackasses Can All Agree On, It’s That They Love Branding, symbols & language, will be presented on individual pages and the Lexicon). [Additions for clarification to the original text will be marked as such.] We will also be short on citations; these are largely available on the more robust pages.

INTRO: Fuck These People, Right?
It’s been 86 years since the German American Bund organized their rally in Madison Square Garden. Attended by over 20k people, this Nazi rally surrounded a massive portrait of George Washington with swastikas on each side. The Bund was not alone in inflicting this nightmare in the middle of New York City; they were joined by the Christian Front, the antisemitic cult of personality and violent street crew that formed around Detroit radio preacher Charles Coughlin, a man who frequently had kind words for Hitler and the Nazis. Coughlin called for a “crusade against the anti-Christian forces of the Red Revolution.” His audience took it to heart.
The Christian Front was the actualization of Coughlin’s words, spreading propaganda and engaging in violence and harassment against Jewish folks, organized labor, and anyone interpreted as a “red” in the US. While most of its membership was out of New York City (including 400 NYPD officers at least), another chapter existed right in Massachusetts. The Boston chapter was led by Francis Moran, a pro-Nazi activist. While he was leader, Moran was recruited by Herbert Scholz, the German consul in Boston and officer of the SS, as a local Nazi propagandist.
Under Schloz’s guidance, Moran became an even more ardent advocate for the Nazis in Boston. He organized viewings of pro-Nazi films and radicalized disaffected Irish Catholics into forming their own Jew-hunting street crews. The BPD turned a blind eye, even participating in the harassment of Jewish folks with false arrests, or in the violence on the streets.
BUT the Christian Front were not unopposed. There were five times as many enraged counter-protesters trying to force their way into the NYC chapter’s rally as there were attendees, held back by the NYPD from overrunning Madison Square Garden in 1939. Journalist Frances Sweeney waged a one-woman information war against the Boston chapter for years, eventually knee-capping their BPD support by exposing the rampant antisemitism of local police, and even getting the Front’s Copley Sq. office shut down.
The Christian Front no longer exists. Coughlin died in 1938. Moran in 1971. May they both rest in ferociously boiling shit! One problem: after the Front had its last meeting, all those members went home, most lived their lives, and some started families. According to Nazis of Copley Square author Charles Gallagher, the Christian Front “saw themselves as the advance guard in a holy war against Communists and Jews—groups whom they perceived as one and the same.” The ideas and hatred of the Front still live on, and their particular line of conspiracy theory should be familiar; permutations of it are held by several modern groups that drape themselves in flags American, Nazi, and otherwise. Some even draw inspiration from the Christian Front, seeing Massachusetts and Boston specifically as a stronghold of racists waiting for the right thought leader to lead the commonwealth into modern white supremacy.
You should learn who these people are. You should be able to tell other people who they are. From your garden variety fascism-curious MAGA Republican to your wannabe street toughs wearing their straight-laced boots and neo-Nazi-branded merch, you should know them well enough to oppose them. To properly oppose, one must become familiar with the object of one’s opposition. Know your enemy.

The Proud Boys: A multi-racial militant neo-fascist organization, claiming to be a “drinking club,” who organize to defend “traditional masculinity & Western values” with chauvinism (read as: jumping police barricades and punching liberals, antifascists, attendees at LGBTQ+ events, etc.) Several members have recently died from liver failure, true to form. Led in Massachusetts by BFS member John Medlar.
Goyim Defense League: A neo-Nazi hate group established by Jon Eugene Minadeo Jr., a/k/a “Handsome Truth.” Dedicated provocateurs, the GDL is mostly about harassment. This includes call-in trolling campaigns into town hall meetings, at least one of which targeted Worcester, where one member works. Aligned with NSC-131; Minadeo has been photographed at some of NSC’s in-person member meetings.
Asatru Folk Assembly: A white nationalist non-profit organization masquerading as a neo-pagan religious org. Admits white men, white women, and literally nobody else. Members in other regions occasionally overlap with their local neo-Nazi street crews. Stephen Farrea was a member for almost a decade before joining NSC-131, as was Chris Pohlhaus before establishing Blood Tribe.
764: An online terror & sextortion network that targets children and teenagers. Members manipulate or blackmail targets to record branding or injuring themselves, with the ultimate goal of pressuring targets to commit suicide on livestream. A member out of West Springfield spent 2 years harassing women in PA, hiring a local man to go to their homes & commit fire-bombings and drive-by shootings.

MAGA: Republican & conservative Trumpists
If one of you is reading this: hi, I’m one of those antifascists Tucker keeps talking about.
If you’re a Trump supporter who, say, doesn’t believe that the immigrants, Jews, BLM, the gays, or Antifa are out to get you, you aren’t a fascist per se. You are, rather, in league with fascists. You’re the equivalent of the happy Germans or Italians who didn’t join the war, but loudly supported Hitler & Mussolini in their private lives, and shrugged when the Nazis started rounding up their neighbors. That’s not better. You can still go fuck yourself.
Niemöller’s poem, the “first they came for the socialists” one? Niemöller, a self-identified antisemite, supported Hitler. They sent him to Dachau anyway, simply because he didn’t want Nazism to become Germany’s state religion! Niemöller being an otherwise ideal potential Nazi did not save him from harm by the regime, and if you think you’re above getting got by the bloodthirsty monsters on your own side I bet you have some surprises coming.
Moreover, if you’re one of the redcaps who enjoys the suffering of others & voted in Trump to hurt people you hate, you are evil and I am your enemy. The conspiracy theories holding your politics together are an addiction, a power fantasy you partake in to try & claim control of your shit life. Some of you people are such sore winners, so ardent in your belief that you aren’t the one thing all your failures have in common, that it’s gotta be some other guy holding you back, that I want to oppose you simply because your whining makes me want to crush everything you think will bring you success.
Even if you & I have more in common than the rich bastards keeping everyone with less wealth than them down, I don’t want to be in solidarity with you!

An informal coalition, MAGA is defined by alignment with Trump and his policies. Originally an anti-progressive counter-culture, they sure are undignified fuckfaces about becoming the establishment. Also? ICE is nepotism for racists. [Notable figures in the orbit of MAGA, whether local residents or responsible for local events, include:]
- Chaya Raichik: As “Libs of Tiktok,” Raichik has made a career of appropriating social media material created by LGBTQ+ folks and turning it into outrage content for right-wingers. Harassment campaigns and bomb threat hoaxes appear wherever her attention gets focused. Locally, this has meant bombing threats against a hospital and harassment by NSC-131. [see entry in Misc for more info]
- John Gaskey: A Republican out of Carver who has forwarded an anti-trans bill to the state legislature that will die in committee. While not formally allied with Trump, remarks he’s made about “immigrants invading” and “LGBT brainwashing” make it clear Gaskey’s aligned with MAGA in all the ways that matter.
- Scott Hayes: A pro-Israel, anti-trans, anti-feminist Trumpist out of Framingham and, to my assessment, a bloodthirsty, trigger-happy, pro-Rittenhouse wannabe vigilante. Hayes appears to be a provocateur in the style of Joey Gibson, if Gibson was aligned with pro-genocide Zionists in Newton instead of Proud Boys in Portland. It took 22 rallies before someone finally picked a fistfight with him, which ended with Hayes shooting the unarmed man.

The work herein and in further volumes are built on the backs of dozens, if not hundreds, of antifascist researchers & activists, journalists, and others who would undermine the global fascist power-grab we find ourselves mired in. The fascists will lose, it’s just a fact, because we are here to win this fight.

03: Stuff Happens To Massachusetts, But Also Happens Elsewhere in Ways That Affect Stuff That Happens To Massachusetts
And boy HOWDY do the fash get up to a lot of nonsense. Here’s a 9-year timeline in summary; the fact that it’s pointedly non-exhaustive but still 19 pages long [in zine format] should tell you enough about how busy these hateful, writhing freaks get. In entries that mention putting up stickers or propaganda, assume it’s white nationalist or neo-Nazi propaganda. There will be copious editorializing through this section, as consistent with the rest of this zine’s volumes (sorry, or you’re welcome).
sometime during August 2014: Boston-local software developer Eron Gjoni publishes an obsessive diatribe about his ex to a blog. Gjoni, without evidence, implies that his ex traded sex to critics for favorable reviews of a video game she developed. The online trolls who chose to act on Gjoni’s behalf fail to notice/care that these reviews do not exist. This results in “Gamergate,” an extensive and insane misogynistic harassment campaign that goes beyond Gjoni’s ex, with innumerable anonymous harassers targeting several women in and around the video game industry with thousands of rape & death threats for several years (if it ever really ended). As a complex act of mass harassment motivated by one person’s unhinged and hateful ranting, wherein virtually all participants were never meaningfully held to account, it’s an unfortunate prelude to what’s bubbling up from the sewer pipe.
November 8th, 2016: Donald Trump, not yet a convicted felon or adjudicated as a rapist in a court of law, defeats Hiliary Clinton in the United States presidential election, becoming the 45th president. Trump, the real estate industry’s equivalent of a seedy and scam-flush used car salesman, is woefully unequipped to lead a nation; his choices get a lot of people killed.
February-April 2017: the “Battles For Berkeley,” wherein an event by alt-right provocateur & teenager-grooming apologist Milo Yiannopoulos and two rallies staged by March 4 Trump organizers see massive counter-protest efforts in California. Violence breaks out at all events; the rallies following the foiled Yiannopoulos event see anti-racists and antifascist protesters clashing with counter-protesting coalitions of organized alt-right street crews. One incident during March sees street thug & antisemitic conspiracy theorist Kyle Chapman strike a counter-protester over the head with a flagpole, turning him into a celebrity among the alt-right (they started calling him “Based Stickman,” it really doesn’t take a lot to get famous with these chumps). Another during April sees a massive brawl between counter-protesters and a coalition consisting of Patriot Prayer, the Oath Keepers, the Rise Above Movement, and Identity Evropa. Members of RAM in particular jump police barricades to isolate and swarm counter-protesters, with RAM founder Rob Rundo at one point assaulting a cop. Videos of assaults recorded by RAM are widely disseminated in alt-right spaces as propaganda; this eventually inspires groups including Boston Free Speech/Resist Marxism, Patriot Front, and NSC-131 to attempt to emulate RAM’s streetfighting tactics (particularly the swarming assaults). Violence by alt-right provocateurs plague the Pacific Northwest for years after this, including a fatal knife attack by a Patriot Prayer hanger-on and several riots involving gunfire & wanton violence by Proud Boys in Portland OR.
May 13th, 2017: The first Boston Free Speech rally. Teen members of the fervently racist Anti-Communist Action and the Proud Boys organize the event. They only get members of their intended demographic to commit to attending their event after a 4chan image forum user suggests organizers start claiming “antifascists are trying to shut down our event,” a thing that was only true after people started committing to attending the event. Speakers include future J6 insurrectionist and “patriot militia” Oath Keeper leader Stewart Rhodes, future spousal stalker and A12 speaker Austin “Augustus Invictus” Gillespie, and Kyle “Based Stickman” Chapman. Attendees also include Mike Barbosa and Mark Hayden, future members of Patriot Front. A number of attendees carry flags intentionally designed to resemble the Nazi war ensign, just in green and with the 4chan icon replacing the swastika. A Proud Boy from New York is arrested for assaulting a counter-protester.
On the same day, Joey Gibson of Patriot Prayer organizes the first of several counter-protests against leftist events in Portland OR. Local journalists speculate that Gibson’s extremely confrontational methods seem designed to incite violence at events he counter-protests by getting others to take the first swing at him. Local Proud Boys are present, and at least one assaults a protester without provocation. Several fascist street orgs adopt Gibson’s model of confrontation as “activism,” including the Proud Boys, Patriot Front, NSC-131, and Resist Marxism (itself a coalition group that both included Patriot Prayer and was an ostensible attempt at importing Gibson’s style of violence into Boston).
August 11th-12th, 2017: the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville VA. Groups involved in the rally also active in Massachusetts include Identity Evropa, Anti-Communist Action, American Guard, Vanguard America, and Kyle-Chapman-led Proud Boys sub-group the Fraternal Order of Alt-Knights (a real name that is not the most ridiculous factoid about the Proud Boys). Among the security detail of neo-Nazi thought leader & bad tailoring enthusiast Richard Spencer is John Donnelly, a now-disgraced member of the Woburn MA Police Department. Other monsters on the ground include several future Patriot Front members, including ones who’ve all run around MA being dicks at one point or another. Patriot Front founder Thomas Rousseau, at the time an organizer within Vanguard America, interacts with James Alex Fields, handing Fields a VA-branded shield and integrating him into a group of VA members. Fields later drives his car through a group of counter-protesters, injuring 35 and killing Heather Heyer. Irony: the backlash to A12 fractures the alt-right.
August 19th, 2017: the second Boston Free Speech rally. The violence at A12 and BFS’s choice to invite several A12 speakers leads directly to the 50 attendees seeing 40k protestors, and BPD scrambling to keep the two groups separated. BPD shoves the speakers into a truck to get them out of the crowd safely, ending the rally early to maybe avert a riot. The fact that the organizers booked Milo Yiannopoulos, the same provocateur who triggered the first Battle For Berkeley, as a surprise guest & speaker may have something to do with any given concern of a riot. Future Patriot Front organizer and NSC-131 founder Chris Hood is interviewed a handful of times while among the crowd; he states that Nazis aren’t welcome in Boston. He joins Patriot Front two months later, and admittedly works hard enough to recruit bodies and create his own local chapter. Boston Free Speech is largely subsumed into multi-tendency neo-fascist coalition group Resist Marxism; under the guidance of Kyle Chapman, the coalition includes Joey Gibson’s Patriot Prayer, the Proud Boys, American Guard, various militia movement groups, and others. BFS still conducts small-scale actions as a militant street crew. Two members of BFS, as well as one of their event speakers, file nuisance defamation suits against Boston Mayor Marty Walsh for correctly clocking BFS as a hate group; at least one of the lawsuits is dismissed, hilariously, on free speech grounds the next year.
October 28th, 2017: A user on anonymous image board 4chan, calling themselves “Q Clearance Patriot,” posts for the first time. They claim Hilary Clinton is about to be arrested. Later posts paint Clinton & the Democratic Party as cannibalistic child molesters, with Donald Trump the only person in government willing or able to oppose them. This becomes the “QAnon” conspiracy theory, which plays a contributing role to several nightmare events for the next seven years. Again, one person, unhinged ranting, complex mass harassment. Q merchandise becomes a fixture at reactionary right-wing rallies, including in Boston and during J6.
November 18th, 2017: Resist Marxism, co-led by future J6 putschist Mark Sahady and future NSC-131 member & neo-Nazi Michael Moura, holds the “Rally for the Republic” outside the MA State House. The Oath Keepers are present, acting as event security. Speakers include Joey Gibson and future convicted felon & exceedingly violent Proud Boy Tusitala Toese.
December 1st, 2017: Members of Boston Free Speech disrupt a reading of Mark Bray’s “Antifascist Handbook,” hosted at the Harvard Coop. A scuffle breaks out, and one BFS member is struck repeatedly in the face by angry attendees. This nets the injured man an interview on conspiracy theory extravaganza & literal fake news program InfoWars by host Alex Jones himself.
December 7th, 2017: Members of Boston Free Speech, accompanied by Patriot Front member Chris Hood, hold a “Protest Against Violence” outside the Harvard Coop. One member assaults an annoyed passer-by on video, a joke too hack to write.
January 20th, 2018: Resist Marxism attempts to disrupt the Cambridge Women’s March, going as far as preparing a slate of counter-speakers. They’re chased off by attendees & antifascists.
April 16th, 2018: The Proud Boys hold a Patriots Day rally in Concord. Toese speaks. Boston Free Speech and at least one Proud Boy attempt to confront high schoolers there to counter-protest their event, but are intercepted by antifascists.
June 30th, 2018: Resist Marxism does double-duty, with Moura leading a counter-protest against an “Abolish ICE” rally in Boston and Sahady joining a Patriot Prayer rally in Portland OR. Moura’s obnoxious contingent spends most of its time getting yelled at by protesters, while Sahady’s gets declared a riot by Portland PD.
July 21st, 2018: Members of Resist Marxism disrupt a Boston Democratic Socialists of America general meeting. When an infiltrator is immediately detected and bounced from the meeting, RM members resort to harassing BDSA members on the streets and stalking them to their vehicles.
August 4th, 2018: Roughly thirty members of Resist Marxism attempt to hold a rally in Providence RI. They’re met by 250 counter-protesters, who successfully sabotage RM’s sound equipment by exposing it to the rain. A brawl ensues, with one RM attendee resorting to throwing horse manure at counter-protesters, before it’s broken up by Providence PD.
August 26th, 2018: Resist Marxism organizes a counter-protest against David Hogg’s “50 Miles More” march. Hogg, marching from Worcester to the Smith & Wesson HQ in Springfield, is a survivor of the Stoneham Douglas High School shooting in Parkland FL which left 17 people dead.
October 6th, 2018: Resist Marxism attempts to hold another rally in Providence RI, which rapidly devolves into a massive brawl when Proud Boys and members of American Guard jump police barricades to assault counter-protesters. American Guard organizer John Camden, a man with a vast history of violence in neo-Nazi circles, is recorded issuing open death threats to counter-protesters and identifying himself by name. Joey Gibson and Tusitala Toese are prevented from speaking when Providence PD ends the event early in fear it may become a full-blown riot.
October 28th, 2018: Resist Marxism attempts to disrupt the “Rally for Trans Rights” in Boston. They are yelled at until they leave.
November 18th, 2018: Patriot Front, led by Chris Hood, attempts to disrupt the Boston Anarchist Bookfair. Hood continues organizing actions against the BABF throughout his tenures with both militant accelerationist group the Base and NSC-131.
sometime during December 2018: Michael Moura of Resist Marxism loses his damn mind for maybe two weeks straight, and attempts to get antifascist researchers to ID his girlfriend (at the time also a member of Resist Marxism) and get her fired from her job. When the researchers do not pick up the opportunity to become a tool of Moura’s abuse, Moura poses as an antifascist and sends threats to other members of Resist Marxism whom he believed were spending too much time being friendly to his girlfriend. This includes American Guard organizer John Camden, who is not the smartest man. Camden seems to believe the threats are actually coming from antifascists, and holds onto the anger from this until Resist Marxism’s next event disruption in early 2019.
December 6th, 2018: Under the guise of a Young Americans for Liberty event, Resist Marxism holds an “Open Borders Vs. Closed Borders” “Debate” at Berklee College. Members of Patriot Front are present, operating in a “security” capacity, led by Chris Hood.
January 19th, 2019: Resist Marxism disrupts the Boston Women’s March again. This time members are far more aggressive. Mark Sahady is recorded attempting to assault a trans woman before another member de-escalates him. American Guard organizer John Camden is recorded shoving and screaming at protesters, as volatile as he was in October.
February 14th, 2019: Seven members of Patriot Front, including Chris Hood, are stopped by BPD while putting up propaganda in East Boston. One member assaults a cop and gets arrested. BPD then takes the IDs of other members, searches them, and arrests Hood when they find a switchblade on him. Hood is represented by A12 speaker Augustus Invictus in court.
March 15th, 2019: 51 people are slain at a mosque and an Islamic center by a mass shooter in Christchurch, New Zealand. Several members of Resist Marxism, particularly Michael Moura and John Camden, make posts on social media that reveal them as pleased with the massacre of innocent Muslims.
April 6th, 2019: Another Resist Marxism & Proud Boy rally in Providence RI, planned for this day, does not materialize! This is largely because nine Proud Boys are on trial in NYC for assaulting several people outside of the Manhattan Republican Club. This problem does not get better for the Proud Boys when the Huffington Post leaks their event planning chat logs; they reveal that specific members were openly fantasizing about engaging in armed violence, one going as far as naming a person they might assassinate in Providence with a rifle. This is a fatal blow to Resist Marxism’s publicity; Michael Moura exits in disgrace, leaving Mark Sahady to figure out what to do with what was left in the aftermath. Sahady proceeds to organize Super Happy Fun America, alongside failed Libertarian politician Samson Racioppi, failed Republican politician John Hugo, and organizer Sue Ianni.
May 11th-16th, 2019: Neo-Nazi Ramy Giannakakis fails to set fire to a rabbi’s home in Arlington MA (twice), a Chabad center in Needham MA, and a Jewish-owned business in Chelsea MA. These are investigated as hate crimes.
June 28th, 2019: Patriot Front member Robert Budzyna fails to set fire to two apartments in Auburn MA. The fires aren’t apparently motivated by race; one seems to target members of his own family. He’s arrested for these crimes in 2022, after a stint in a Texas jail for stalking a romantic partner, and pleads guilty.
July 6th, 2019: Patriot Front holds a flash rally at the Bunker Hill Monument. They light road flares and record visually incomprehensible video while Hood bloviates into a bullhorn. At one point their videographer loses control of their camera drone, and it strikes a member directly in the face. In the aftermath, some members complain about the magnesium in the flares melting holes into their synthetic-material overshells.
August 4th, 2019: Patriot Front attempts to confront protesters at the Boston March Against Cages. One member throws a Nazi salute at the march; he is subsequently unmasked and identified as an organizer with Resist Marxism. (His actions as a neo-Nazi are connected to his real name years later, while he’s employed as a high school math teacher.) Failed arsonist Robert Budzyna is also among the Patriot Front members; people on the ground note that he appears to become anxious when protesters claim that BPD are on their way. Patriot Front is then chased from the march, where they flee aboard an Orange Line train.
August 31st, 2019: Super Happy Fun America holds a pro-Trump, anti-gay-pride “Straight Pride Parade” in Boston, with alt-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos functioning as the event’s “Grand Marshall” (the fact that Yiannopoulos is gay is irrelevant, it’s still a pointedly anti-gay-pride event). Based on a concept of “straight pride” that the Ku Klux Klan had been trying to push into the mainstream for decades, the parade procession itself travels from Copley Square to Boston City Hall and is five minutes long. Future NSC-131 member Chase Gilroy is part of it, occasionally photographed shadowing Yiannopoulos. John Camden of American Guard and Proud Boy & future federal informant Kenny Lizardo look for fights on the outsides of the police barricades until BPD forces them to rejoin the parade. BFS member and Proud Boy John Medlar, somehow, tries to sing as part of the parade’s wrap-up speeches at City Hall. The attendees number in the hundreds, The counter-protesters number in the thousands; 34 are arrested by the end of the event, when BPD mass-maces counter-protesters without giving an order to disperse.
October 25th, 2019 or so: Chris Hood is expelled from Patriot Front due to his perceived disloyalty to the organization. He had spent several months embezzling chapter funds for weed, for which he was demoted from an organizing role. He gets the boot for inculcating obvious neo-Nazis into Patriot Front activities, interviewing to join the Base, and fostering the splinter group within Patriot Front that would eventually become NSC-131.
November 23rd, 2019: At the urging of NSC-131 co-founder Zach Brackett, Chris Hood jumps a Patriot Front member during a PF meeting at member & failed arsonist Robert Budzyna’s home in Auburn MA. The assaulted member presses charges against Hood and one of his accomplices. Hood offers to divulge the identities of 20 fascists in New England to antifascist researchers as long as the researchers launch a harassment campaign against his victim. The researchers don’t bite, and instead publish the emails Hood sent. The charges are later dropped.
On roughly the same day, failed arsonist & neo-Nazi Ramy Giannakakis attempts to commit suicide via a gunshot to the head. He languishes in a coma for roughly a year before dying.
March 24th, 2020: MA Governor Charlie Baker issues a stay-at-home advisory in light of the COVID pandemic. Several right-wing groups take this personally; this includes SHFA, who organize many anti-lockdown/vaccine protests across MA (including in front of the State House in Boston and outside Baker’s home in Swampscott) over the ensuing months.
May 30th, 2020: SHFA holds a “Reopen Massachusetts” rally outside the State House. NSC-131 attends, in a “security” capacity, and are not immediately bounced for being apparent neo-Nazis. Moura has obviously joined NSC at this point.
June 27th, 2020: SHFA holds an anti-Black-Lives-Matter “Restore Sanity” rally outside the MA State House. NSC-131 once again attends; this time, a scrum breaks out when SHFA attempts to eject NSC, including Hood & Moura, from the rally.
July 11th, 2020: A rally at the Christian Science Plaza announced by NSC-131 never materializes, in the face of antifascists promising to counter-protest. NSC pretends they never announced anything, and they never announce a rally ahead of time again.
August 8th, 2020: NSC-131 holds their first official flash event in Massachusetts, distributing meals to unhoused white people in Boston Common before holding a stand-out in front of the State House to protest… something? The banner they held said “Antifa has no home here,” it didn’t really make a lot of sense, no real thought put onto a cohesive throughline there.
August 25th, 2020: During civil unrest in Kenosha WI following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, Kyle Rittenhouse shoots three people, killing two. His eventual trial is a shitshow and charges against him are dismissed. Rittenhouse becomes a celebrity among Republicans and neo-Nazis alike, and becomes a symbol meant to threaten murder against anyone who prefers not to be shot dead in the street by aggressive right-wingers. NSC-131 briefly themes some of their propaganda and slaptags after him.
September 27th, 2020: the Abington chapter of anti-BLM org America Backs the Blue holds a pro-police rally in Mansfield MA. They are joined by NSC-131, who do obviously neo-Nazi things. The ABtB organizers don’t eject NSC for being obvious neo-Nazis.
November 3rd, 2020: Joe Biden defeats Donald Trump in the United States presidential election, becoming the 46th president.
January 6th, 2021: Galvanized by former president Trump at a rally on the Ellipse in Washington DC, thousands of pro-Trump supporters storm the Capitol Building and surrounding area in a coup attempt. Among these supporters are several members of the Proud Boys, the Oath Keepers, Super Happy Fun America (organizer Sue Ianni arranged 11 buses for attendees from Massachusetts), and NSC-131. One NSC-131 member, Richard Ackerman, steals a riot helmet from Capitol Police, and assaults an officer with a thrown projectile. The Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, seen as planning to participate in the rally for the express purpose of overthrowing the government, are ravaged by years of federal legal prosecution.
April 11th, 2021: NSC-131 holds a flash rally in Wakefield MA, as part of a national “White Lives Matter” event. This rally is the last time Andrew Hazelton joins an NSC action as a member before his arrest for possession of child porn later this month.
April 28th, 2021: Former Resist Marxism organizer and NSC-131 member Michael Moura tries to purchase an automatic rifle and ammunition from an undercover FBI agent. It goes poorly for Moura, given his violations of protective orders taken out by his ex-girlfriend means he’s not allowed to possess firearms at all. He pleads guilty, and is eventually sentenced to 37 months in prison.
April 29th, 2021: Following allegations from his coworkers that he was showing signs of planning a workplace shooting, NSC-131 member Andrew Hazelton is subject to FBI search warrants of his person, his cellphone, and his residence in Portland ME. The feds find child porn on his phone. NSC-131 expels him as a member the next month. Hazelton pleads guilty during his subsequent trial, and is eventually sentenced to 5 years in prison.
June 27th, 2021: Three members of Patriot Front flyer cars during the Black & Brown Outdoor Market in Haverhill. An eyewitness takes note of their actions and physical descriptions; one of the Patriot Front members responds by flashing a handgun at them. One member is later arrested and effectively placed on probation. The armed member is never publicly identified by law enforcement, or held to account in a court of law.
July 10th, 2021: Two members (likely the pair not arrested for the Haverhill thing) of Patriot Front are arrested for defacing a wall in Salem. Their trial lasts until the beginning of 2023, where they are found “not guilty” by a judge on mostly procedural grounds.
July 24th, 2021: Super Happy Fun America holds a “Refounding Fathers Festival” in Auburn, ultimately a frantic attempt to raise money for the inevitable prosecutions of various members for J6.
November 7th, 2021: Super Happy Fun America holds a “Rise Against Tyranny” march throughout Boston. Spooked by a swarm of counter-protesters, the driver of SHFA’s rental gear van plows through a set of police barricades. Police arrest him, then shut down the event.
November 13th, 2021: NSC-131 holds a flash rally outside the Lucy Parsons Center, an antifascist bookstore in Jamaica Plain. The police arrive well before NSC does; given the unannounced nature of flash rallies, this suggests NSC called the cops on themselves to stage a more credible photo op. This is notably the first time NSC-131 member Leo Cullinan, a convicted drug dealer, alleged spousal abuser, steroid-abusing bodybuilder, and wannabe neo-Nazi fitness influencer, joins an NSC action in Massachusetts.
December 9th, 2021: A member of Patriot Front commits a propaganda campaign on the Framingham State University campus. An investigation by FSU police correctly identifies the specific member, and three members in total are charged with conspiracy for organizing the campaign.
January 22nd, 2022: Radio host, Super Happy Fun America ally, future also-ran candidate for the MA gubernatorial race, and developing neo-Nazi-adjacent crank Dianna Ploss helps organize an anti-vaxx rally outside of Brigham & Women’s Hospital. NSC-131 holds a contemporaneous flash rally outside the same hospital, on a different street. This is notably the first NSC event failed arsonist Robert Budzyna joins as a member, violating his post-prison probation by fleeing Texas in the process. Ploss eventually wanders over to meet NSC-131 (at the behest of a BPD officer, she later claims), receives them positively, and indicates she may invite them for an interview on her radio show.
February 12th, 2022: NSC-131 holds a flash rally over Storrow Drive in Boston, dropping a banner from one of the footbridges there. NSC-131 member Leo Cullinan is recorded assaulting a woman for photographing them with her smartphone.
March 20th, 2022: NSC-131 attends the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade in South Boston, and hands out propaganda to parade-goers. Chris Hood approaches two BPD officers while drinking from an open container; he’s subsequently arrested. The remaining members leave when folks realize that the neo-Nazis are, in fact, neo-Nazis, and start giving them flack. On the way back to their vehicles, members assault a heckling couple.
May 7th, 2022: NSC-131 holds a flash rally in Downtown Crossing and march to Boston Common. Cullinan is recorded physically menacing black pedestrians who have words for the neo-Nazis.
May 9th, 2022: Chaya Raichik posts about a kindergarten teacher employed by Billerica public schools on her “Libs of Tiktok” account. Not two hours afterward, NSC-131 orchestrates a call-in & email campaign to the apparent aim of getting the teacher fired.
June 16th, 2022: NSC-131 member Kyle Morris is arrested for possession of automatic firearms. Searches of computer equipment he tried to dispose of months beforehand indicated to the FBI that he was planning to engage in a shooting spree in Lawrence before bombing the Massachusetts State House.
July 2nd, 2022: Roughly 100 members of Patriot Front march along the Freedom Trail. Several are armed with shields, some made of sheet metal and others molded polycarbonate. Along the way, members assault Charles Murrell III, a local black musician. They shove Murrell with their shields, forcing him to defend himself until law enforcement intervenes. Locals seem to document LEOs helping Patriot Front members load their shields and flags into the back of a UHaul outside Haymarket Station. The PF members then board the Orange Line for Oak Grove, where they assault a number of people recording them. Local law firm Foley Hoag later represents Murrell pro bono in a civil lawsuit, which Patriot Front representatives do not show up for. The resulting default results in $2.7 million in fines and damages against Patriot Front.
July 23rd, 2022: NSC-131 holds a flash rally in protest of a Drag Queen Story Hour being held at the Loring-Greenough House in Jamaica Plain. Hood is arrested after engaging in a street fight. This marks NSC’s first disruption of a DQSH in Massachusetts.
August 11th, 2022: Chaya Raichik uses her “Libs of Tiktok” account to amplify lies about Boston Children’s Hospital offering “gender-affirming hysterectomies.” Not long after, a string of bomb threats is made to BCH, followed by two anti-trans protests. One person, unhinged ranting, mass harassment campaign.
October 15th, 2022: NSC-131 holds a stand-out in Quincy MA, to advocate for further law enforcement action against a local black mother. They cite Worcester-based Turtleboy Daily News, a conservative outrage blog run by disgraced gym teacher and alleged sex pest Aidan Kearney, as their context source.
October 30th, 2022: NSC-131 holds a stand-out in Kingston MA, to protest the migrants being sheltered at a local hotel. This would prelude several weeks of similar protests against migrant shelters by NSC the next year.
November 13th, 2022: NSC-131 attempts to disrupt the Boston Anarchist Bookfair, held out of the Democracy Center in Cambridge. Members are defeated by a pair of locked doors, stage a photo op, nearly get into fistfights in the middle of the street, and leave after 10-15 minutes.
December 10th, 2022: NSC-131 and the Proud Boys attempt to disrupt a DQSH held at the Fall River Public Library in separate efforts. NSC-131 members Leo Cullinan and Stephen Farrea attempt to enter the venue, but are halted at the door by a wall of antifascists, whom they assault. Other members, including Chase Gilroy, join the scrum, with some eventually shoving an antifascist to the landing of the library’s entrance before kicking him repeatedly. Still, the neo-Nazis do not make it inside.
January 14th, 2022: NSC-131 disrupt a DQSH held at the Taunton Public Library. Several members enter the building and harass the reader and the parents present.
April 29th, 2023: Patriot Front protests SatanCon in Copley Square. They are joined by a group calling itself the Pine Tree Party, which seems to partially consist of identifiable & former members of Patriot Front. One of these members is named as Vaughn Schlegel, a USPS letter carrier who would successfully run for a position on the North Brookfield Select Board the next year. His identity is later released by antifascist researchers. He resigns after serving nine months of a three-year term.
June 19th, 2023: A day after NSC-131 protested another DQSH in Concord NH, member Leo Cullinan dies of a meth & fent overdose! Antifascists take great glee in the providence of Cullinan, a violent racist who had personally assaulted several people in MA & NH on top of spending several months stalking and harassing staff members of a hospital in Manchester NH, dying on Juneteenth.
June 20th, 2023: NSC-131 member Richard Ackerman is arrested on several felony charges related to his actions during J6.
August-September 2023: NSC-131 spends four straight weekends protesting outside of various migrant shelters in Woburn, Marlborough, Quincy, and Framingham. During this time, members of the local Patriot Front chapter also scout migrant shelters, though they take no outward protest actions
October 14th, 2023: NSC-131 holds a stand-out at Governor Healey’s home in Arlington, as an endcap to their series of protests opposing migrant housing in Massachusetts.
November 4th, 2023: Patriot Front participates in the second Boston Men’s March to Abolish Abortion and Rally for Personhood. Patriot Front member Nick Cerce, a barely visible attendee of A12, is identified by antifascist researchers for his trouble; his wife files for divorce within the week.
December 7th, 2023: AG Campbell files a civil lawsuit against Chris Hood & NSC-131 for their disruptions of Drag Queen Story Hours, harassment of state-housed migrants, and assaults on counter-protesters, among other acts. The suit cites a large amount of video NSC recorded of their own misdeeds as evidence, which NSC had released as recruitment propaganda. The New Hampshire AG files a similar lawsuit against NSC just the next week. NSC soon starts begging for donations online.
February 10th, 2024: NSC-131 holds a second stand-out at Governor Healey’s home in Arlington, in protest of the state’s civil suit against them. This is the last apparent time NSC-131 appears in Massachusetts as themselves.
March 18th, 2024: NSC-131, as their civic action front PINE, attend a town summit in Dedham to harass the town manager about the housing of migrants in local hotels. NSC members formed PINE as a potentially deniable workaround to a civil rights lawsuit filed against them in New Hampshire the previous year, so that NSC could continue getting up to MAGA-friendly white nationalist activism without drawing heat for their violent street crew activities. The reappearance of PINE appears to be a direct response to the new civil lawsuit filed in Massachusetts. PINE continues in this vein until mid-April, where they hold a stand-out at the Lexington Patriots Day parade.
May 18th, 2024: NSC-131 – calling themselves the “New England Minutemen,” wearing a lot of green, and fooling exactly no one – hold another anti-migrant protest outside of a shelter in Lexington. This is the last time NSC-131 is obviously active, most certainly due to circumstances that would unfold over the next few weeks.
May 24th, 2024: NSC-131 member Stephen Farrea is arrested on charges of possession child sexual assault material! His wife files for divorce barely a month later.
June 3rd, 2024: Chris Hood claims to step down from running NSC-131, citing the recent birth of his daughter (and pointedly not mentioning the death of Cullinan or the arrest of Farrea). He is still a named party in the MA civil suit, and remains engaged in court proceedings to this day.
September 12th, 2024: Pro-Rittenhouse MAGA Republican Scott Hayes shoots an unarmed man during a physical brawl at a pro-Israel rally in Newton. Hayes, a fan of genocidal empires actual and fictional (there are Galactic Empire tattoos, I’m not kidding, a guy rooting for both Netanyahu and Palpatine is too hack a joke to write), sure seems like a demonstrably bloodthirsty provocateur and bully who appears to have been looking for a chance to shoot someone. Someone finally swings at him during his 22nd pro-Israel event since May of this year.
October 25th, 2024: Super Happy Fun America protests a DQSH in Somerville. They have barely ten people and are wildly outnumbered by counter-protesters. After SPD announces shutting down the event due to a bomb threat, SHFA organizer Christine Doherty attempts to enter the library (which, again, SPD has said may have a bomb in it), and then takes credit for shutting down the event (which, again, was shut down by a bomb threat).
November 5th, 2024: Donald Trump, at this point a convicted felon and an adjudicated rapist, defeats Kamala Harris in the United States presidential election, becoming the 47th president??? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME
January 20th, 2025: Trump, on the first day of his second term as U.S. President, grants pardons & commutations for the J6 rioters. Mark Sahady and Sue Ianni of Super Happy Fun America receive such pardons, as does Richard Ackerman of NSC-131, though all three have already largely served their prison sentences.
January 31st, 2025: NSC-131 members, including Chris Hood, are involved in a knife fight with the Atlantic Nationalist Club in Stratford CT. The venue is alleged to be the lawn outside the home of a former NSC member who had defected to ANaC.
February 22nd, 2025: Roughly 20 members of Patriot Front stage several harried 30-minute photo ops masquerading as flash rallies in various New England cities, starting in Manchester NH, continuing in Boston MA, then ending up in Providence RI.
March 18th-25th, 2025: U.S. Border Czar Tom Homan personally oversees the arrests of 370 people in and around Boston, including from Latin American communities in East Boston, by ICE. One arrest, that of a Tufts doctoral student outspoken against the ongoing genocide in Palestine, is caught plainly on camera. The goal is mass deportations. Homan pledges to return in order to coordinate more mass arrests in the future.
