Chase A. Gilroy

Preamble

Chase A. Gilroy (born October 27th, 1994) is an American neo-Nazi. He is one of the more active and violent members of Chris Hood’s Nationalist Social Club of New England, and has taken part in a number of violent assaults on persons opposed to the sight of blathering white nationalists in public. Previous to his membership in NSC, Gilroy was supposedly a member of Patriot Front. [1]

Gilroy’s last-known locale of residence is Warwick RI.

This dossier is not intensely concerned with what Gilroy believes, as that information is largely inaccessible or shared through sources that have not been verified. This dossier’s remit revolves around collecting information about Gilroy and cataloging his major activities.

Changes since last revision will be highlighted as such. Notes and citations will be provided throughout the document in the form of links to external websites, represented by bracketed numbers. Wherein a set of brackets contains a symbol other than a number, this is meant to represent either a physical document with no online copy (such as a police report or court case), or a database that cannot/will not be cited in a specific manner (such as the ADL’s HEAT Map, or social media accounts operated by known fascists). Find these corresponding citations in the “External citations” section.

Timeline of activities

2021

On April 24th, Gilroy and Proud Boy Zachary Pickering defaced locations in Bristol RI, including the Rogers Free Library and a mail box outside the local post office, with white supremacist stickers. The stickers included depictions of Hitler and propaganda for Patriot Front. This event was preceded by a previous white supremacist tagging event on April 13th in Warren RI, and resulted in a larger and more resource-intensive investigation by Bristol police detectives. Fingerprints were found on the stickers placed in Bristol, which were identified as Gilroy’s. He was then arrested by Bristol PD on May 13th after surrendering himself into the local precinct. He pled no contest to a charge of vandalism, and was ordered to pay $250 to the NAACP in the Sixth District Court in Providence RI. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

On March 20th, NSC members attended the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in South Boston. They remained until local documentarian-activists & performance artists Rod Webber & Lauren Pespisa pointed out to other parade-goers that NSC were, in fact, neo-Nazis. Webber and Pespisa then followed NSC, which several NSC members took as a prompt to assault the both of them. While Gilroy exchanged words with Webber, he did not appear take part in the assault of either Webber or Pespisa. [1] [2] [3] [♣]

On July 25th, Hood arrived at the BMC West Roxbury District Courthouse for the arraignment related to his arrest two days previous. He was joined by a small cadre of other NSC members, including Gilroy. Through the identification of his grandmother’s car to ferry the various NSC members to and fro the courthouse, Gilroy was summarily identified as an NSC member. [1]

On August 13th, NSC members held a standout in Nashua NH, protesting the murder of Julie Graichen by Jose Miguel Ramirez-Vasquez. Gilroy was present. [∗]

On September 19th, Hood appeared at BMC West Roxbury District Courthouse, for a court date in regards to his charges from the Jamaica Plain MA affray. Gilroy once again accompanied him, this time in attire that allowed the identification of his various arm tattoos. [1]

On October 2nd, NSC members marched and held a banner in Lewiston ME, calling for greater charges against Somali refugee Emmanuel Nkurunziza for his role in the murder of Donald Giusti, a white man. Gilroy was present. [∗]

On October 15th, NSC members marched and held a banner in Quincy MA for a WLM National Day of Action, calling for hate crime charges to be pressed against Rakeima Norris, a black mother who alongside her daughter assaulted a white woman in the area. They were confronted by at least two locals, one of whom brandished a pair of scissors, but were not assaulted themselves. Gilroy was present, and recorded as one of the members attempting to physically confront the locals. [∗]

On December 10th, NSC members attempted to disrupt a Drag Queen Story Hour in Fall River MA. Antifascists prevented members of NSC, led by NH regional lead Leo Cullinan, from entering the library. Gilroy was among a number of members who charged the door after Cullinan’s initial failed attempts to enter, and was recorded helping pull down an antifascist before kicking them several times. Gilroy was then almost knocked down the stairs in front of the library by MA regional lead Liam MacNeil as MacNeil tried to escape the fracas. [∗]

2023

On January 14th, NSC members disrupted a Drag Queen Story Hour in Taunton MA. A handful of members, including Gilroy, physically entered the library and attempted to heckle the reading. This did not deter the performer, who continued until the end of their appointed time. [∗] [1]

On February 21st, NSC members drove by Red Ink Library in Providence RI and attempted to disrupt the Red Books Day ’23 readings. Gilroy, driving his own vehicle, was one of the members shouting at community defenders. This was preceded by a brick with slurs scrawled on it being thrown through one of Red Ink’s windows the night beforehand. [1] [2] [3]

On April 1st, NSC members held a march and standout in Portland ME. They were met with a trio of counter-protesters bearing a Pride flag with an antifascism emblem on it. After one member tried to steal the Pride flag from one of the counter-protesters, Gilroy and other members assaulted the three of them. A photo of Gilroy, easily identifiable despite poor attempts to conceal his identity, striking a counter-protester was later posted to NSC’s social media. [∗] [1]

On June 18th, members of NSC attempted to disrupt a Drag Queen Story Hour at the Teatotaller in Concord NH. Gilroy was present. A later propaganda video release shows a confrontation between understandably angry locals and several members after NSC left the Teatotaller. During this confrontation, Gilroy continually hovered near a verbally combative young woman, even as other members occupied themselves with surrounding and menacing a less combative young man. On July 30th, members of NSC quickly stopped by a Jason Aldean concert, being held at the Xfinity Theater in Hartford CT, pointedly avoided the tailgate protest being held by locals, snapped a quick photo, and left. Gilroy was present. [1] [∗] [2]

On August 12th, members of NSC protested in front of the Maine Governor’s Mansion and Maine State House in Augusta ME. They claimed it was in response to a decision made by ME Governor Janet Mills to “import 75,000 Africans into Maine by 2029” (of course an aggressively incorrect read on the topic), which according to journalist Crash Barry was sourced from a Maine Wire report on the subject. Gilroy was present. [∗] [1] [2]

Quotes

Quotes from any member of NSC are to be taken with a grain of salt, given the need to maintain nonviolent optics and the willingness to contradict their practical actions with their party line. It should be noted that the only known statements Gilroy has made in this section were recorded in his capacity as an NSC member at their events, and are likely more reflective of who he is than statements made by most other members.

“F█████’ p████, beat me up, I’m coming, f█████’ f█████.”

— what can be understood of Gilroy during NSC’s attempt to disrupt the Boston Anarchist Bookfair in Cambridge MA, toward a member of the public who challenged them, November 13th 2022. [∗]

Personal life

Gilroy is a musician as a hobby, and has gone by a number of stagenames including “Chase Killjoy.”
